The 10K General Duty Trailer Axle Brake Assembly delivers confident, controlled stopping power. It supports trailers rated up to 10,000 lbs. Plus, it fits the right-hand, or passenger side, position. Part #31-B1210E-12 is built specifically for 10K trailer axles and handles higher weight ratings with ease.
This 10K self adjusting brake uses a 12-1/4″ drum and 3-3/8″ wide shoes. As a result, it creates a large friction surface. That design manages heat better and maintains consistent braking under load. It also bolts directly to a common 7-bolt brake flange. Because of this, the backing plate stays rigid and square. In turn, shoe wear stays even and engagement feels smooth.
Part #31-B1210E-12 follows Dexter-style 10K Self Adjusting Brake specifications. Therefore, it fits many Dexter axles and other brands using the same 7-bolt pattern. Even better, the assembly ships fully built. The shoes, magnet, springs, and adjuster come pre-installed. So installation is faster and more reliable.
This brake performs well on equipment trailers, car haulers, flatbeds, and commercial trailers. It handles frequent use and heavy loads. At the same time, the general duty design balances durability and serviceability. That makes it a smart choice for fleets and owner-operators.
Proper break-in matters. After installation, complete 20 to 30 controlled stops from about 40 mph. Allow brief cooling between each stop. However, avoid hard or panic braking. This process seats the shoes, improves stopping power, and extends brake life.
Part #31-B1210E-12 is sold individually and fits the right-hand side only. Pair it with the matching left-hand brake to fully service a 10K axle with confidence.
