The 10K General Duty Trailer Axle Brake Assembly delivers reliable stopping power for heavy-use trailers. It supports 10,000 lb axles and mounts on the left-hand, driver’s side. Part #31-B1210E-11 is built for frequent towing and higher weight ratings.
First, on this 10K electric brake the 12-1/4″ drum pairs with 3-3/8″ wide brake shoes. As a result, you get more friction surface and better heat control. Therefore, braking stays consistent even under load. In addition, the self-adjusting design keeps proper shoe-to-drum clearance during normal stops. This reduces maintenance time and promotes even wear.
Next, installation stays simple. The assembly bolts directly to a standard 7-bolt brake flange. It follows Dexter-style 10K specifications, so it fits many Dexter axles and other compatible brands. Plus, it comes fully assembled with shoes, magnet, springs, adjuster, and self-adjusting hardware already installed. That means no guesswork and less time in the shop.
This brake assembly works well on equipment trailers, dump trailers, flatbeds, and commercial haulers. It handles stop-and-go driving and sustained heavy loads with confidence. At the same time, the general duty design balances durability with easy serviceability.
However, proper break-in matters. After installation, make 20–30 controlled stops from about 40 mph. Allow short cooling periods between stops. Avoid hard braking at first. This process seats the shoes, improves stopping power, and extends brake life.
